in 1992 when she was just graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska. Bossard began her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999, when she started working aboard the F/V Sunset the 65' halibut schooner turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. She has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is married to Aritan. They've come together and have claimed their respective fields. They both believe in conservation and maximizing the use of natural resources that are used in the industry of seafood. Otolith, a wholesale direct seafood distributor was opened in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age three), Andre Bossard (1 year old) as well as Bossard's mom. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia following the birth of two children.
